ETS is delighted to inform you that TOEFL iBT examinations taken beginning May 5th, 2024, are now eligible for Australian immigration reasons.
In July of last year, the Australian Department of Home Affairs announced on its website that TOEFL iBT will no longer offer English language examinations for Australian visas from July 26, 2023, until further notice. (TKN 24/7/23)
The government has taken note, and the TOEFL is back.
We appreciate the DHA’s high requirements for English proficiency and its acknowledgment that the TOEFL iBT meets them. TOEFL, the leading academic English proficiency exam, is still accepted by all Australian universities and more than 12,500 other institutions throughout the world.
ETS said it is excited to serve students wishing to study in Australia and skilled professionals in Australia with TOEFL as they continue to open doors for everyone, everywhere.

The TOEFL iBT must be taken at a test centre, as the Australian government does not yet recognize online English-language assessments.
Tests taken between July 26, 2023 and May 4, 2024 are not valid.
Tests taken before July 26, 2023 remain valid for two years.
